Black-Indigenous Stories // Black-Indigenous Studies
A roundtable discussion cosponsored by the Indigenous Futures Institute (IFI) and the BSP featuring Eve Eure (Literature, Lehman College CUNY), DeLisa Hawkes (Africana, UT Knoxville), Kelema Moses (USP, UCSD), Katie Walkiewicz (Literature, UCSD), and moderated by Andrew Jolivette (Ethnic Studies, UCSD). This roundtable brings together a group of scholars working at the intersection of Black-Indigenous studies to discuss the potentials and limits of Black-Indigenous humanities research. How can attending to literature, art, music, and other forms of cultural and spiritual expression invite us to see Black-Indigenous intimacies, worldbuilding, and radical refusals that might be otherwise overlooked or obscured? What might they omit or obscure?
