MATT FORD's MFA thesis, The Book of Myles, is an autofiction novella that follows Myles Crescendo (MC), a young, Black musician (and Gemini) on their journey through the valley of death as they learn to stay connected with their late father using the power of song. Pulled into a cosmic realm when they play their father's records, Myles rides the vibrational frequencies of Black music through time and space—experiencing their ancestors' struggles, meeting their twin flame, and arranging a symphony to liberate lost Black souls lodged in the cracks and crevices of the universe.
Following the presentation, other attendees will have the opportunity to share,
discuss, and receive feedback on their own works-in-progress.
