Informed by intersectionality framework and syndemic theory, Danielle's dissertation research looks at the impact of sociostructural inequities and syndemic conditions on participation in HIV research among Black women, a population disproportionately affected by HIV. This explanatory sequential mixed methods research aims to inform best practices to identify ways to increase Black women’s participation in HIV research and benefits from research should they decide to participate.
