COMMUNITY WORKSHOP
BSP Community Workshop: Teaching & Researching "Contentious" Topics in Hostile Environments
Are you worried about disruptors in your classroom, or your exposure to FOIA requests, doxing or harassment because of the topics you teach or research in this current political climate? This inaugural BSP Community Workshop will feature a panel of experts offering practical strategies and tips for educators interested in learning how to prepare for incidents before they occur or to respond if they do.
The panel will feature Daphne Taylor-Garcia (Associate Professor of Ethnic Studies and Director of the Critical Gender Studies Program at UC San Diego), David Loy (Legal Director of the ACLU of San Diego & Imperial Counties), Megan Ybarra (Associate Professor of Communication at UC San Diego), and Heather Steffen (Director of Faculty First Responders and Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University).
